Chengdu University of Information Technology (CUIT, Chinese: 成都信息工程学院) is a Chinese university founded in 1951. It is a key developing provincial university joint building by China Meteorological Administration and Sichuan Province.[1] It is the only university independently specializing in information technology in southwest China, and is the member of CDIO world organization.[2] From 2004, It started to educate reserve army officers for strategic missile forces which named Second Artillery Corps (SAC) in People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China .[3]

History

Chengdu University of Information Technology was established in 1951, named as Southwest Air force Meteorology Cadres Training Unit. It was restructured into Chengdu Meteorology School in 1956, and then upgraded to Chengdu Meteorology College in 1978. It was transferred to university run by province from the one run by state in 2000 and changed its name as Chengdu University of Information Technology. In 2001, Sichuan Statistics School was incorporated into the university.[4]
